Don’t miss upcoming freebies and highlights.

Hiya guys, it's buidlbee crypto community. We're excited to see you (and we hope you're happy to see us, too). A lot of interesting things happened over the weekend. And the week ahead promises to be a hot one. So we will not waste time and go straight to the core.

In today's letter, you'll be treated to:

  • A crypto market overview;

  • Major crypto events list for April 3-10;

  • Airdrops and freebies;

  • New tokens and tokens unlock;

  • A chance to win ETH!

Congratulations to the winner of our quiz! Leroy Selman, you're the lucky person, I hope you don't miss the email letter from our team because you forgot to specify your wallet.

But first, let's go over the weekend's highlights:

  • Singapore-based crypto-payment provider Alchemy Pay has raised $10 million in additional investment from DWF Lab. Thus, the valuation of the project grew to $400 million.

  • The law firms Boies Schiller Flexner and Moscowitz filed a class action lawsuit against Binance, the company's CEO, and three promoters. The company is accused of illegally selling securities, and its representatives are charged with advertising the platform's services. The three plaintiffs are seeking damages totaling $1 billion.

  • Japan's financial services agency (FSA) said that foreign crypto exchanges like Bybit, BitForex, MEXC Global, and Bitget are operating in the country without proper registration.

  • Cross-chain bridge Allbridge lost digital assets worth about $570,000 in a hacking attack. An unknown person manipulated the swap price to take tokens out of the pool on the BNB Chain network.

  • Ethereum Layer-2 scaling solution the zkSync Era network experienced downtime from 1:52–6:02 AM CET, April 1. No blocks were generated on the mainnet during that time.

  • SpaceX and LunarCrush will send a wallet key with 62 BTC to the moon.

  • Justin Sun offered to buy 41,500 BTC (linked to Silk Road, which the U.S. government wants to sell on the market) at a 10% discount for an OTC transaction to minimize the potential impact on the market.

U.S. Regulates Crypto (New Season)

  • Amid the activation of regulation of the crypto sector, Gary Gensler of the SEC has requested a record $2.9 billion to fight cryptocurrency and has already received it. This is a kind of metric of what resources will be thrown against crypto in the near future on the basis of a legal fight.

  • Meanwhile, according to the WSJ, after Hong Kong decided to approve bitcoin retail trading, more than 20 major crypto companies have announced plans to open branches in the region, and another 80 have expressed interest in doing so.

  • The activity of U.S. regulators regarding crypto means a new political cycle is approaching rather than actual violations of laws, some experts say. The U.S. has the midterm elections for Congress, and the election race is gaining momentum.

XRP vs. SEC

Lawyers had previously predicted that the XRP vs. SEC case would be dismissed on March 31, following Judge Torres' ruling. But that did not happen. Instead, an attorney representing thousands of XRP holders, John Deaton, overturned the deadline. It is now cautiously predicted that a decision could be reached within two months, at most by the end of the summer of 2023.

Judging by Ripple's price reaction, the market took this postponement of the decision calmly and moderately positively. The crowd's logic is as follows: since it's difficult for the court to announce this decision, it means that it's a politically unfavorable decision for the authorities, so everything is delayed as much as possible. And in the meantime, the daily trading volume of #XRP is at its highest level since September 2022.

We asked Lord XRP expert about the current XRP situation:

Regarding Ripple, the company is currently facing a lawsuit filed by the SEC for allegedly conducting an unregistered securities offering through the sale of XRP tokens. Ripple has denied the allegations and is fighting the lawsuit.

It is not accurate to frame Ripple's defense as a mission to save the whole crypto industry. While the outcome of the lawsuit may have significant implications for the cryptocurrency industry, Ripple's primary objective is to defend itself against the SEC's allegations and clear its name. If Ripple wins the lawsuit, it would set a precedent for other cryptocurrency companies facing similar allegations from the SEC, but this would be a secondary consequence of the case.

What about the other tokens?

  • Huobi is launching a series of ETH 2.0 staking rewards. While some are banning staking, others are making it even more profitable!

  • Project Arbitrum is going through so-called "governance drama" right now; the failed vote has split the community and caused token sales (moderate so far).

  • In the last week, about 84 million $MATIC tokens were withdrawn from known exchange wallets, while whales prefer to hodl this asset. Because of this, the price of the token has stabilized and started to rise in the last 24 hours.
